Dog Refuses To Be Separated From His Elephant Friend In His Last Hours Of Life

Friendships in the animal world are heartwarming and truly inspiring. Despite coming from different species and backgrounds, animals have a natural ability to connect with one another. Pancake, a highly affectionate dog, is a prime example of this.

Pancake was rescued from the streets and transported to an elephant refuge three years ago. Katherine Connor, the founder and CEO of BLES, saw Pancake and adopted her. Although she may not be elephant-like, she adapted well to her new surroundings and is aware of everything that goes on around her.

One of the other BLES animals is Boon Thong, an elderly elephant who was rescued from a camp where she was forced to carry visitors on her back. When she arrived at BLES, she was exhausted but began to make connections with other animals, including Sao Noi, another elderly elephant who passed away two years ago. Boon Thong stood by Sao Noi's side as she passed away, caressing her with her trunk to let her know she was not alone.

Now it was Boon Thong's turn to pass away, and Pancake had a hunch something was wrong. She remained by Boon Thong's side as Katherine and Pancake decided to stay with her in her final moments. They spent nine hours with her until she passed away, offering her comfort and support.

"Pancake, with her great heart, never left Katherine or Boon Thong alone. She realized it was vital to give assistance. And she remained quiet with the elephant till sunset, until the final words of encouragement," BLES officials posted on social media.

Boon Thong's tomb was decorated with fruits and flowers as a memorial. Her body was placed next to Sao Noi's at a place where she could finally be happy and live a complete life.

This heartwarming tale shows how animals can have emotions and be sensitive to one another's needs. Despite their differences, they have a natural ability to connect with one another and create strong bonds. It is a reminder to us all to show kindness and compassion to those around us, both human and animal.

As Pancake showed, friendships in the animal world can be incredibly strong and touching. Despite being of different species, Pancake and Boon Thong had a bond that could not be broken, even in death. This bond is a reminder that animals are not so different from us, and that they too have the capacity for love and compassion.

It is also a reminder of the importance of animal sanctuaries like BLES. Without such sanctuaries, many animals would continue to suffer from abuse and neglect, and their chances of forming such deep bonds with other animals and humans would be limited. Sanctuaries like BLES provide animals with a safe and loving environment in which to heal and thrive, and they also serve as a powerful reminder of the positive impact that humans can have on the lives of animals.

The story of Pancake and Boon Thong is a reminder of the incredible bonds that can form between animals, regardless of their species. It is also a reminder of the power of animal sanctuaries like BLES, which provide a safe and loving environment for animals in need. We should all strive to do our part to support these sanctuaries and the animals they help, and to treat all animals with the love and respect they deserve.
