Girl Rescues Dʏing Dog And Then He Let’s Her Know It’s Time To Say ‘Goodbye’

Sophiane Nacer, a 19-year-old founder of Cayleb’s Kindred Senior Dog Rescue, had a mission to give a home-less and sick dog the best last days of his life. Even though he was too sick to save, she was determined to make him feel loved and happy before he left this world. The dog was named Hippo, an old stray covered in tumors, who was surrendered to a shelter.

Sophiane adopted Hippo and brought him home after the five-day waiting period. Hippo's skin was painful to the touch due to the tumors covering his body, and Sophiane wasn't sure if Hippo could experience much of anything because of his excruciating pain.

But all her doubts quickly faded when she saw his tail wag. The sick dog still had hope. He fought to feel love and happiness before he left this world. Sophiane wanted Hippo's last day to be his best day ever. So, she took him to Starbucks and bought him a Puppuccino, a secret menu item for dogs consisting of whipped cream in a cup. Hippo loved it!

The next day, Sophiane took him to a dog park so he could have some playtime. Hippo loved every minute of it! But then, Hippo had something to say to Sophiane. The old dog, suffering yet hopeful, had something he had to tell his new best friend. He was ready to go.

Sophiane had a vet euthanasia specialist come to her home after the dog park. The specialist had made Hippo a roasted chicken with sedatives inside. He got to eat his last meal as comfortably as possible with Sophiane by his side, then drifted into a painless permanent sleep.

While Hippo's story is sad in so many ways, it's also quite uplifting. A dying dog who would have only known suffering got to spend the rest of his life feeling loved and wanted. Even though Hippo's life was short, it was filled with love and kindness in his final days.

Sophiane's act of kindness and compassion for Hippo's last days show that every dog deserves a chance to live a happy life, even if it is just for a short period of time. The love and care given to Hippo shows that the end of a dog's life can be a peaceful and comfortable one with the right amount of care and attention.

Hippo's story is a reminder to all dog owners and animal lovers that every dog deserves to feel loved, even if they have a limited time left on this earth. Sophiane's act of kindness towards Hippo serves as an inspiration to all of us to give our furry friends the love, care, and attention they deserve.

May all dogs leave this world feeling loved and happy like Hippo did. Rest in peace, Hippo, you were a very good boy!
