4-Month-Old Puppy, Beaten and Thrown Under Bridge, Tries to Rebuild After Excruciating Pain
In Santa Cruz (United States), Cheddar suffered a particularly cruel mistreatment. This puppy was thrown into a garbage bag and suffered terrible pain before being miraculously discovered. Once well surrounded, the canine began the perilous path of reconstruction.
The little Cheddar really didn't get off to a good start. On Sunday March 26, the Golden Retriever cross was the subject of a “ horrific case of animal abuse ”, as reported by the teams of the sheriff's office in Santa Cruz, California. People returned to their story.
A saving encounter
That day, a motorist near the Buena Vista Freeway was puzzled by the presence of a " plastic trash bag ." Approaching it, he made a horrifying discovery: a puppy had been locked inside. He had " significant injuries and other signs of aggravated neglect and abuse ", could be read on Facebook .
Particularly emaciated , the puppy had been thrown under the highway bridge and left for dead a few hours earlier. The motorist, investigators and Internet users were all deeply sickened by this story.
The little Cheddar was immediately taken to Santa Cruz Veterinary Hospital, where he slowly recovered from his many injuries, both physical and emotional, with the help of caregivers .
The investigation continues
Since this discovery, the sheriff's office has been working to get justice for Cheddar , seeking information about its former owner. They shared the photo of his necklace in hopes someone would recognize him, but to this day they still haven't found his whereabouts…
Cheddar caught the attention of many people on social media. Several of them have expressed their wish to adopt him by using the telephone line of the sheriff's office! It is finally a member of the veterinary team of the hospital who will decide to offer him a loving home.
Renamed Apollo , the canine can finally make a wonderful new start that almost eluded him. The investigation to find her executioner continues.
The puppy was in excruciating pain, but fortunately, he was found by a Good Samaritan who immediately brought him to a local animal rescue group in San Antonio, Texas called SNIPSA. SNIPSA took the puppy in and named him Max.
Max had a long road to recovery ahead of him. The staff at SNIPSA discovered that Max had a broken leg and severe bruising on his abdomen. It was apparent that Max had been severely beaten before being thrown under the bridge.
Despite his injuries, Max remained a very sweet and affectionate puppy. He loved to snuggle with his rescuers and seemed to be grateful for the love and attention he was receiving.
The staff at SNIPSA worked tirelessly to help Max recover. They provided him with medical treatment and gave him the love and care he needed to regain his strength.
After several weeks of rest and rehabilitation, Max finally began to show signs of improvement. He started to walk again, and his spirit began to brighten.
Max's story touched the hearts of many people, and he was soon adopted by a loving family who was committed to giving him the happy life he deserved.
Today, Max is a healthy, happy dog who loves to play and snuggle with his new family. Despite the trauma he endured, Max has proven to be a resilient and loving dog, and his story serves as a reminder of the resilience of animals and the power of love and compassion.
