Victimized Puppy Is Given A Symbol To Remind Him He Is Worth It

A kindhearted passerby stumbled upon a shocking sight on the side of the road: a rolled-up blanket containing a severely emaciated puppy who was near death. The frail pup, later named Harris, was taken to the medical facility of Stray Rescue of Saint Louis (SR).

Sadly, it was clear that Harris had not been abandoned, but instead had been neglected and brutally mistreated. It's unfathomable how someone could inflict such cruelty on such a beautiful creature. Thankfully, there are far more good people than bad in the world, as evidenced by the many friends Harris made along the way who were willing to go to great lengths to help him lead a happy, healthy life.

Upon Harris' arrival, he was unresponsive. Medical staff treated his wounds and gave him intravenous fluids and painkillers. Volunteers sat by his side, waiting for the little pup to respond. All that was left was to wait.

Realizing that maintaining a fighting spirit and staying mentally strong is a critical aspect of treatment, the team at SR created a sign for Harris to remind him that he is loved, that his life matters, and, most importantly, that he is brave!

As time passed and Harris continued to struggle, a shelter volunteer opted to sleep with him for comfort. See! We told you there are far more good people than bad in the world!

Initially, Harris had a feeding tube, but only a few days later, he was able to lift his head and eat on his own! Check him out! What a little warrior!

Before you knew it, tiny Harris was sitting up and taking a bath! Look at how adorable he is. That lower lip is just too cute!

Harris took his first steps in no time. What a wonder! He needed assistance, but as seen in the video below, he eventually walked all on his own!

Every day, Harris amazed the rescue volunteers with new accomplishments. They were unsure if he would survive, of course, they hoped, and of course, they never gave up. But every time Harris did anything, his human companions were amazed. They continued to call him a miracle. And he most definitely is!

Finally, Harris runs like the wonder dog he is!

Harris continues to make his rescuers proud. He's full of smiles, and he's brimming with confidence now. He's still recovering, but no one doubts that he'll make a full recovery and find the perfect forever home.
