She had come close to the worst because of a bump that had formed on her head and was mistaken for a tumor. Strawberry was also served by her breed, with Pitbulls often being victims of prejudice. Despite everything, at the shelter where she lived, people continued to believe in her chances of finding a loving family.

A female dog has finally found a loving home after going through several shelters and coming close to euthanasia, 9Honey reported .

Strawberry is a 2 year old female Pitbull . She was nicknamed the " unicorn dog " because of the bump that formed on her head.

The dog had stayed in more than one shelter in California and didn't seem to be of interest to any potential adopters. What caused it to be ignored by visitors is the size mentioned above. Also, being a Pitbull didn't work in his favor.

In November 2022, Strawberry had been considered for euthanasia , as the bump in question was thought to be formed by a cancerous tumor . Fortunately, analyzes revealed that it was not at all about that; it was, in fact, scar tissue that had formed at the site of an old wound.

The dog was still in bad shape when she arrived at the Labelle Foundation shelter in Los Angeles (United States). She had " horrible scratches on her swollen face and her eyes were sticky, not to mention the 2 giant bumps on her sweet head ", detailed the association on her Instagram account .

The Labelle Foundation team cared for and pampered her, which allowed the volunteers to see how affectionate she was.
