Woman adopts one-eyed dog and then finds out she saved her from euthanasia within 1 day (video)
In the videos shared by Audrey, Indie radiates joy and happiness. In just a few days, she went from being a dog locked up in a kennel and facing certain death to being a free, happy, and loved dog with a whole life ahead of her.
The meeting between Audrey and Indie seems to have been fate. Audrey had always wanted a dog and had patiently waited to find the perfect match. Indie, on the other hand, had waited a very long time without finding a family and was about to be euthanized to make space in the shelter. Audrey was unaware of the ultimatum hanging over Indie's head, yet she adopted her one day before the deadline. This heartwarming story was reported by PetHelpful.
Nobody was interested in Indie
Indie's adoption fee was a mere $23. The shelter wanted to encourage visitors to consider adopting her because no one was interested. There were several reasons for this. First, her breed. Indie is a Pitbull, and this breed is often perceived as scary and unattractive to adopters. Additionally, she was missing an eye which had been removed by the shelter veterinarians because she had arrived with a large laceration that required it. Her appearance made her less appealing to potential adopters.
Despite her unique appearance, the dog was very sweet, kind, and had a lot of love to give and receive. However, the shelter lacked space, and when it came to choosing animals to euthanize, those with the least chance of being adopted were chosen. Indie was one of them. A date was set, and the shelter shared the information on Facebook to give the animals one last chance to be adopted, but no one showed up.

Fate brought Audrey and Indie together
Audrey had not seen the Facebook post about Indie's euthanasia. It was by chance or destiny that she adopted the dog just one day before the deadline. When she met Indie, she "thought she was perfect."
The dog was a bit shy at first but quickly got used to her new surroundings. She enjoyed a good bath because she was dirty and then started running excitedly all over the house. She quickly became attached to her new owner, whom she loves to hug and kiss.
It wasn't until after the adoption that Audrey came across the Facebook post discussing Indie's euthanasia.
Today, Indie continues to make her mark in her new home, and in the videos, we can see that she is already the happiest sharing Audrey's daily life. She is only 3 or 4 years old, and a whole life is waiting for her.
